All parents have to deal with their baby’s diaper leaks on a daily basis. To prevent diaper leakage, here are some tips you could follow.
1.Select diapers that are suitable for your baby’s weight and body shape
Select out the right diapers is mainly up to baby’s weight and body shape, not month age. Almost every diaper packaging will be identified by weight. Picking diapers according to weight and body shape would be more accurate. If diaper is too big, the gaps between crotch and the thighs’ root would be too big to let urine flow out. For too small situation baby will feel tight, uncomfortable and may bring pain to legs. Also the urine capacity is not enough.
2.Change diaper regularly, especially for bed time
Each piece of diaper has its maximum capacity, almost a bottle of water. Every baby’s urine amount is different. Observe the urine times of your baby to decide the change timing, but better not exceed 3 hours.
3.Wear the diaper properly
There are back, front and side leakage which are mainly caused by inappropriate wearing, sleeping position and movement of babies.
The babies like to lie on who have a higher possibility to leak from back side. When put the diaper on your baby, you can lift the diaper to the baby’s back a little bit and then pull the diapers from the legs to the baby’s belly button. Do not cover the navel to prevent the diapers from draining the urine to the navel and cause umbilical inflammation. Especially as the belly button of the newborn infant has not fallen off yet. After sticking the magic tape, pull out double sides leak guard fabric.
The side leakage actually is the most common circumstance. Have to pay more attention on following points during wearing diapers. (a) Wear the diaper balanced, attach the left and right tape on front landing zone in same position to keep diaper balanced. Most of the leakage is caused by the crooked diapers. (b) Don’t forget to pull out double sides leak guard fabric after sticking the left and right tapes.
There are a few cases of front leakage which are mainly caused by sleeping on stomach and too small diapers. After putting on the diaper, check the tightness, if could insert one finger is appropriate.
